Man these side plates are cool. They gives me some piece of mind putting the #kx2 in the pack and keeping it safe. Also, the heat sinks will help out if I run digital modes in the field.

Thanks to all the recent followers. I think it’s likely due to recent concerns over potential radio bans. Here is the best way I can sum this all up. Most Chinese radios including the #baofeng are not certified for use outside amateur radio frequencies. Further, the FCC has mandated that all amateur radios be locked to only transmit in the amateur frequency spaces. I don’t like this ruling. But it’s important to understand it and make your own choices on how to program and use your radios. With that said, baofengs aren’t banned.
